Women are prone to develop stretch marks, this is a fact which every woman has to face. The reason why they are the target population for this unsightly condition is because it is their bodies which get pregnant and whose skin gets stretched to the max when the fetus is growing inside them.
For many women, these marks can fade after a length of time and for some they just diminish in size that they are less obvious. However, there are others whose stretch marks can be permanent and can look similar to scar tissues. Women who have this despair of ever having their smooth skinned tummy back.
Usually the stretch marks are visible scars which occur on the abdominal skin of women and on the upper and inner thighs. These are caused by the dermis being torn after a rapid stretch on the skin during the periods of rapid fetal growth or rapid weight gain. Normally the skin can keep pace with the stretching but when the change is too rapid, it cannot keep pace and can tear. There are some who even bleed after a tremendous stretch. The scars resulting from this can also be accompanied by a color change on the skin. Some women can develop pink or reddish marks while others develop unsightly light brown to black scar tissues.

This is the removal of excess abdominal skin which can improve the abdominal profile as the skin is pulled and tightens close to the abdominal wall. This will also result to a smaller waistline as the muscles get pulled toward the midline section.
Although many think that this is a cure, this is not true. Liposuction should not be seen as a cure for stretch marks, it is a corrective procedure which can get rid of them. There are techniques which can remove the scars without having to go through a tummy tuck like a laser treatment. There are even stretch mark creams which can reduce the development and appearance of the scars.
